LAKE ORTA
Lake Orta, a jewel of the Piedmont region and the island of San Giulio, a pearl
in the crystalline waters of the lake nestling just a few yards from the charmingly
picturesque medieval village of Orta, just waiting to be discovered.
No more than 40 minutes drive from the international airport of Milan Malpensa,
an hour from Milan’s city centre and 90 minutes from downtown Turin, Orta offers
great sightseeing opportunities.
In a quiet and peaceful area known for the splendid lakeshore flowers and shrubs:
mimosa, camelias, azaleas, rhododendron, wisteria, hydrangeas, gardenias, roses
and many other gorgeous flowers which, thanks to the excellent microclimate, bloom
in colourful succession throughout the season, from early spring to late autumn.
Local culinary delights area also there to be explored as historically this area
has generated chefs, gourmet products and widely known items of equipment used
in professional kitchens all over the world. Omegna, a small lakeside town nearby,
is home to Italian design companies associated with the hospitality industry and
have great outlets and museums to visit. And last but not least, eight golf courses
two of which are among the finest in Italy are no more than an hour’s drive from
the hotel.
